This was my go-to when I first got into the green smoothie game years ago, and it’s still my favorite way to consume kale. While I love kale for being a nutrient-dense, powerhouse I don’t so much love the texture or flavor of it but the sweetness from the banana and pineapple mask the earthy flavor perfectly!
Pro Tip: Let the frozen pineapple thaw for 5-10 minutes and add it last for easier blending. You could use fresh instead of frozen, but then you’ll also need to add in a handful or so of ice.
Pineapple Banana Kale Smoothie
- 2-3 cups kale
- 1 cup pineapple, (frozen or fresh*)
- 1/2 large banana, (ripe)
- 1 cup water or coconut water
- 1 Tablespoon lime juice
- 1 Tablespoon MTC Oil or coconut oil
- 1 scoop collagen, unflavored bone broth powder, or protein powder of choice
- Pinch of unrefined salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder ((optional))
Blend, pour, enjoy!
If you use fresh pineapple instead of frozen you will also need to add in a handful or so of ice.
